Ma Hui Ling, Secondary 4

Since the start of secondary school, English was the one subject I struggled with the most. My writing was all over the place, and I had no idea how to approach comprehension questions properly. But after joining Zespa Learning and attending Teacher Aaron’s lessons, everything started to change.

With regular practice and strategies from Teacher Aaron, my writing became sharper, my answers more focused, and my confidence grew. Zespa didn’t just help me improve my grades — it changed the way I think and express myself through English.

' I went from a B4 to an A1, and honestly, I wouldn’t have done it without Teacher Aaron.'

I joined Teacher Aaron’s class in Sec 3 when I was stuck at B4 for English. I wasn’t failing, but I also wasn’t improving no matter how much I tried. His lessons were very different from what I was used to — they were focused, practical, and straight to the point.

By Sec 4, my results started climbing, and I eventually got an A1 for English at the O-Levels. I’m really thankful I stuck with his class, it gave me the push I needed.

‘ I used to fail English no matter how hard I tried... Until I joined Teacher Aaron’s class in Sec 2. ‘

My friend recommended Teacher Aaron, so I decided to give his class a shot. From the first lesson, I felt like I was finally learning things that actually made sense. Aaron’s teaching style is super clear, and he’s really approachable. Lessons always felt relaxed, like learning from a senior who genuinely wanted to help. What stood out the most was how detailed his feedback was and how he’d still take the time to explain things one-on-one, even though it’s a group class. He even replies over WhatsApp when I have questions outside of class, especially during crunch time before exams. His oral crash course and timed paper practices really helped me build confidence too. I started at E8 in lower sec, and after learning with Teacher Aaron for a few years, I ended up getting an A2 for Os! Very grateful for Teacher Aaron!

' Aaron makes complex components easy to grasp, is patient, and always encourages me to do my best '

I’ve been learning with Aaron for a year during my Secondary School days, and I’ve seen a huge improvement in my understanding and grades.

Aaron makes complex components easy to grasp, is patient, and always encourages me to do my best. The personalized attention really helped me grow more confident in my studies. I highly recommend Aaron to anyone looking to excel academically in English!

‘ I was stuck at E8 with 6 months to Os. Teacher Aaron turned panic into progress — I jumped 4 grades to B4. ‘

I joined Teacher Aaron’s class after getting an E8 for English in Secondary 4 WA1. At that point, there were only 6 months left before the O Levels. I was panicking, and my confidence was at an all-time low. My English foundation had always been weak, and I didn’t know where or how to start improving. Teacher Aaron was extremely patient and encouraging. He never once made me feel ‘slow’ or hopeless. Instead, he helped me break down each paper and component, and taught me exactly what to focus on to secure the marks I could confidently aim for. Through one-to-one consultations and holiday crash courses, he taught me how to be strategic and how to prioritise the ‘easier marks’. I started seeing results. In WA2, I improved to a C5. At first, I thought it was just luck. But when I got another C5 in Prelims, I realised my results were stabilising. That gave me a huge sense of relief and motivation. And in the O Levels, I achieved a B4! Thanks to Teacher Aaron’s clear guidance and structured lessons, I managed to jump 4 grades, from E8 to B4, in just 6 months. I’m really grateful to have had a teacher who believed in me when I had already given up on myself.

‘ I came to Singapore in Sec 2, struggling with English. From F9 to B3, couldn’t have done it without Teacher Aaron ‘

I came to Singapore in Secondary 2 as an international student, and English was by far the most challenging subject for me. I struggled to keep up with English lessons in school because everything felt so unfamiliar and difficult to grasp.

But in Teacher Aaron’s class, it was different. He always managed to break down even the most complex concepts into simple, easy-to-understand explanations that made sense to all of us. His lessons were clear and structured, and he consistently went the extra mile—whether it was by helping us tidy up our exam notes, preparing revision materials, or guiding us with useful tips. Out of all the resources I’ve used, I found his notes the most effective when it came to preparing for exams.

' Under Aaron's mentorship, I was better able to improve not only in my studies but also my discipline and mindset '

Aaron has been a tutor and also a mentor for me since Secondary 1. Under his mentorship, I was better able to improve not only in my studies but also my discipline and mindset. Despite only providing English tuition, Aaron has also advised me with other subjects that I was struggling with and constantly pushes me to improve myself in other areas as well.

Through following a weekly schedule planned, I was able to allocate my time spent of the different subjects while being able to balance my study and rest time. I would highly recommend Aaron as a teacher for anyone needing assistance in English!

I've been with Zespa since Secondary 1, and looking back, I'm really thankful I started early. With consistent guidance and clear teaching, I saw my English improve year after year — from a C5 to an A1 in my OLevels. Teacher Aaron really gave me the foundation I needed to succeed :)

‘ I joined in Sec 4 with a B3. I thought English was ‘okay’ — until I realised how much more I could improve. ‘

I joined Teacher Aaron’s class at the start of sec 4 when I was getting B3 for English. I always thought English was just “okay” for me, not bad, but not amazing either. But after a few lessons, I realised how much more there was to learn!

His lessons are super clear and honestly quite fun. He gives us useful notes, teaches in a way that’s easy to understand, and always checks in to make sure we’re following. Even though it’s a group class, I still felt like I got a lot of guidance. He also gives personalised feedback so you know exactly where to improve.

By prelims, I was already hitting A2, and I eventually got an A1 for my Olevel! Super thankful for his help — if you're thinking of joining, just go for it!

Kumar Doshi, Secondary 4

' D7 to B4 may not sound like much, but to me, it was a huge deal! '

I used to really struggle with English — I got a D7 in WA1 and honestly thought I’d just try my best and hope for a pass in Olevel. I always had no idea how to write compositions properly and comprehension felt like a guessing game.

Then I joined Teacher Aaron’s class in sec 4, and everything started to click. He made things way easier to understand, especially how to break down comprehension questions and plan essays with structure. What helped me the most was how he gave step-by-step guidance and didn’t make me feel embarrassed for asking questions.

Even though I didn’t get an A, going from D7 to B4 in just a few months was something I honestly didn’t expect — and I’m really proud of it.

‘ One trial at Zespa showed me exactly why I wasn’t hitting A1 — and how to get there. ‘

I joined Zespa when my English results had plateaued at a B4, despite already attending other tuition classes. No matter how much effort I put in, my grades remained stuck in the B range and I couldn’t figure out what I was doing wrong.

I still remember my first trial class with Teacher Aaron. His teaching style was clear, structured, and easy to follow. After the class, we had a one-to-one diagnostic session and goal-setting consultation. He mapped out a clear roadmap for me and pinpointed exactly what I was lacking, from weak analytical depth in my essays to missed opportunities in summary and situational writing. For the first time, I understood why I wasn’t hitting A1 and what I needed to do to get there.

Teacher Aaron is an incredibly patient and encouraging tutor. He never made me feel like I was ‘not good enough’. Instead, he guided me step by step to bridge the gaps in my writing and sharpen my exam skills.

Megan Toh, Secondary 4

‘ I started with a C5 in Secondary 2 and eventually achieved an A1 in my O-Level English. ‘

Back in Secondary 2, I was getting C5 for English and didn’t think too much about it. I just wanted to pass. My parents suggested tuition, so I joined Teacher Aaron’s class at Zespa.

His lessons were clear and structured. He provided templates, model answers, and step-by-step explanations that made understanding the components of English easier.

Over time, my grades improved from C5 to B3, and by Secondary 4, I was consistently scoring A2s. Eventually, I achieved an A1 for O-Level English.

What I appreciated most was that Aaron understood each student’s weaknesses and gave targeted feedback to help us improve. He’s honest with his comments, but always constructive.

' My grades became more consistent, ranging from B3 to A2, and even improved to A2 in the O Levels. '

During secondary school, my English grades fluctuated wildly, ranging from D7 to B3. Going into an English exam is like a hit or miss to me. However, after receiving help from teacher Aaron, whose patient and engaging teaching style truly resonated with me, my performance stabilized. My grades became more consistent, ranging from B3 to A2, and even improved to A2 in the O Levels.

I recommend teacher Aaron to anyone who is looking to improve in exams and looking for a patient teacher.

Although I only joined Teacher Aaron’s class at the start of Sec 4, he never made me feel like I was behind or out of place. From day one, he was approachable, patient, and always made sure we understood everything before moving on. Even though it was a group class, he still took time to check in with each of us and make sure we were coping well — both with English and school in general. What I really appreciated was how responsive he was. Whether it was a late-night question about a composition or help with oral prep, he always replied and explained things clearly. He wasn’t just a tutor — he felt like a mentor too. He gave genuine encouragement when we were stressed, shared advice beyond just schoolwork, and really cared about how we were doing. I came in with a B3, unsure if I’d ever hit that A1. But under his guidance, I improved steadily and finally achieved that A1 for O-Level English.

Before Zespa, I always felt that English was my weakest subject. But after joining, I realised how much easier it is to improve with the right teacher and proper guidance. The lessons, notes, and support I received made scoring well in English finally feel achievable.

WHAT PARENTS SAY ABOUT US

AL5 to AL1

Mother of Keith Ng, Primary 6

Keith has always struggled with consistency in English, especially in comprehension and writing. After joining Teacher Aaron’s class at Zespa, we saw clear improvement not just in exam techniques, but also in overall confidence when using the language.

Aaron provides structured lessons, high-quality materials, and personalised guidance tailored to each student’s needs. He gives timely feedback and communicates clearly with both students and parents.

We were thrilled when my child achieved AL1 for English in the PSLE. I would highly recommend Teacher Aaron to any parent looking for a committed tutor who produces real results.

AL6 to AL1

Mother of Wendy Mok, Primary 6

My daughter had always been hardworking, but her English results were inconsistent. She would do well in one paper and drop in the next. By mid-Primary 5, she scored an AL6, and it was a wake-up call for us.

We came across Zespa Learning and decided to give it a try. From the start, Teacher Aaron gave us a clear breakdown of where she was struggling and how he planned to support her. His lessons were structured and focused, with constant feedback and targeted practice. Most importantly, he helped her understand the techniques behind answering — not just memorising formats.

We're very thankful we made that decision early, and we’d strongly recommend Zespa to any parent whose child is trying but just not seeing results.

AL6 to AL1

Mother of Lee Jia Jie, Primary 6

Although my son only joined Zespa at the start of Primary 6, Teacher Aaron made him feel just as supported and included as students who had been with him for years. He was warm, approachable, and never made my son feel afraid to ask questions or clarify doubts.

What stood out to me as a parent was how consistently Aaron checked in, making sure my son understood what was taught, and patiently following up whenever needed. He was always responsive, even beyond class time, and ensured his feedback was clear and actionable.

Aaron didn’t just teach exam skills, he also encouraged my son, built up his confidence, and helped him stay grounded throughout the PSLE period.

AL4 to AL1

Mother of Caleb Loo, Primary 6

My child was scoring AL4 for English at the start of Primary 6 and lacked confidence, especially in Essay and Comprehension Cloze. After joining Aaron’s class, we noticed a significant shift — not just in results, but also in attitude and clarity of thought.

Thanks to his guidance, my child gradually improved and went on to score AL1 for PSLE English. We’re very thankful to Teacher Aaron and would highly recommend his programme to any parent looking for solid, results-based English support.

AL6 to AL2

Father of Jordan Quek, Primary 6

Mr Aaron broke down complex components into simple, easy-to-understand steps, which made a big difference for my son who was initially scoring AL6. Mr Aaron has also been very responsive, always taking time to address our questions and provide regular feedback. Beyond lessons, he offered my son helpful strategies for tackling exams and managing revision effectively. With Zespa’s support, my son gained more confidence and eventually improved to an AL2 in the PSLE. We’re very thankful!

AL5 to AL1

Mother of Lee Jia Wen, Primary 6

When my daughter first joined Zespa, she was scoring AL5 for English and lacked confidence in the subject. She often felt unsure about how to approach open-ended questions and struggled with expressing her ideas clearly. Under Teacher Aaron’s guidance, she gradually became more confident and started understanding how to tackle each paper strategically. Aaron was always patient and thorough — he would break down complex questions into manageable steps and ensured my daughter understood each concept fully before moving on. He also provided structured feedback and taught her how to plan, review, and refine her answers, which made a big difference in her performance. Thanks to Aaron’s consistent support and guidance, my daughter improved steadily and eventually achieved an AL1 for English in the PSLE.

AL6 to AL2

Mother of Khoo Jing Yi, Primary 6

We first came across Zespa when we noticed how much better our daughter’s classmates were doing in English. While she was putting in effort, she still struggled to improve, and her results remained around AL6. We decided to enrol her in Teacher Aaron’s class, hoping it would give her the support she needed. Mr Aaron made lessons engaging and easy to follow. My daughter who is a visual learner, benefited from the structured notes, mind maps, and step-by-step breakdowns Aaron provided. These gave her clarity and helped her finally understand how to tackle questions with confidence. No words can express how grateful I am. Thank you, Aaron!

AL6 to AL1

Father of Rachel Tan, Primary 6

My daughter enrolled in Zespa at the end of Primary 5, after noticing a sharp drop in her English results (she had scored AL6).

From the very first lesson, Teacher Aaron impressed us with his structured approach and ability to connect with students. He didn’t just reteach topics, he helped our daughter understand where she went wrong and how to fix it. His guidance in composition, comprehension, and oral gave her clarity and renewed confidence.

Over the course of Primary 6, we saw steady improvement in her understanding and attitude. By the time the PSLE came around, she was well-prepared and to our surprise, she scored AL1 for English.

I'm truly grateful for Teacher Aaron’s patience, consistency, and high standards.

(PSLE English)

AL4 to AL1

Mother of Cathy Loh, Primary 6

When my daughter first started Primary 6, she was hovering around AL4 for English. Her main struggles were in comprehension and oral — she often second-guessed her answers and lacked structure in her responses. We enrolled her in Teacher Aaron’s class after hearing positive feedback from other parents. What stood out to me was how Aaron didn’t just drill practice papers — he taught techniques, explained marking rubrics, and helped her understand how to think, not just what to write. He also gave very detailed feedback for compositions and oral, and always encouraged her to reflect on her mistakes. Over time, we saw real growth in her confidence and consistency. She eventually scored AL1 for English in the PSLE, and we couldn’t be prouder. Teacher Aaron played a key role in that journey.

(PSLE English)

AL6 to AL1

Father of Philip Loke, Primary 6

Philip had always been “borderline”— scoring between AL5 and AL6, depending on the paper. After joining Teacher Aaron’s class in Primary 5, we finally saw steady progress. Fast forward to PSLE, he surprised us all with an AL1 for English. We would definitely recommend Zespa to parents looking for long-term, sustainable improvement.

(PSLE English)

AL6 to AL2

Father of Lee Ming Zhe, Primary 6

Before joining Zespa, my son was scoring AL6 for English. We noticed that he was often unsure and relied heavily on guesswork, especially in Paper 2. Under Teacher Aaron’s guidance, he began to approach each component with greater purpose. What impressed us most was how Aaron helped him develop essential habits, learning how to plan, review his work, and express his ideas clearly and logically. By the time the PSLE arrived, he was noticeably more confident and methodical. He stayed focused under pressure and ultimately achieved an AL2 for English.
